American Express Zipair Offer!

We were already planning on booking a flight with Zipair that week so it was an amazing coincidence (or another case of creepy internet trackers?) to log in and see a Zipair offer of $150 off of $750 or more on our American Express home page!

Incredible American Express offer

Zipair is a low-cost airline that is a subsidiary of Japan Airlines. Having flown other budget airlines
(hello Spirit, Ryanair, and Easyjet) we were a little wary the first time we flew Zipair but ended happily surprised to say the least. In our opinion it was nicer than flying some of the big name airlines in the United States! Zipair flies roundtrip to Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Jose, and San Francisco from Tokyo Narita airport.

Zipair offers special "U6 Fares" for children 0-6 years of age that are a fraction of the price of an adult ticket. Children under 2 are provided baby safety seats which are installed and positioned ahead of time based on the child's weight. This does mean that you are required to buy a seat for all children, even if you plan on having your under 2 child on your lap the entire time.

While you do have to pay for all extras: bags, water, food, advanced seats, etc., we found all prices to be very reasonable and we brought food and water with us on board. If you are traveling with children under 6, you can also select their seat and one adjacent parent's seat for free. There is a helpful guide on what exactly this means on Zipair's website but, as seats are 3 across, it does mean traveling as a family of four you either have to split the kids or pay for one of the parent's seats.

Travel Tip: The free seat includes those in the bulkhead row so definitely take advantage and get some extra leg room, or, if you're like us, standing room, to help get your kids more snacks!

For this upcoming trip, we purchased 2 U6 tickets, 2 adult tickets, 1 roundtrip checked bag, and 2 reserved seats for my husband as I was sitting between our girls. The total came out to $1,347.27 and that's before the discount. We received the credit the same day the flight cleared which was incredibly fast!

American Express offers are not the same for everyone. To see if it is available to you, you can check under the Amex Offers & Benefits section on the home page and search "Zipair." If it is in your account make sure to click the "Add to Card" button on the right hand side. It does expire 02/22/2024 so be sure to make your purchase by then.

But that's not all! As we have the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card, we also received an additional $50 off! One of the benefits of our card is $50 in statement credits each calendar quarter for airfare purchases which the Zipair flight qualified us for.

In total, we saved $200 on an already bargain priced flight! $1,147.27 roundtrip with a checked bag and bulkhead seating for 4 to Japan, I'll take it! Even if you do not live near one of the Zipair destinations in the United States, it might be worth seeing if you can get a cheap flight to one as you really cannot beat Zipair prices.
